Manage Stress and Anxiety
Stress and anxiety are related to concerns that are exaggerated as a result of an uncomfortable situation the person is experiencing, although it doesn’t feel exaggerated to the person experiencing it.
The symptoms of stress and anxiety are related to our built in stress response or ‘fight-flight-freeze’. This primitive human response protects us against perceived threats of things happening around us. For example, if you were in a forest and saw a big bear, this would trigger a perceived danger, which would trigger a rush of blood to the arms and legs so that the person can fight or run away, but bears are not the only triggers.
Stress and anxiety can also result from tensions in relationships, uncomfortable social situations or struggles with school or work. Although in these cases we don’t always run away, but instead we shut down. When any of these types of things happen and we’re not able to cope, the increase in adrenalin causes the heart to beat faster and rapidly pump oxygen around the body to the parts that are needed for protection, sometimes causing a panic attack. For those that have experienced this, hypnotherapy very often leads to better sleep and reduction of the unwanted feelings or emotions that can cause this.
We’ll work with you to consider the cause or “trigger” and how to reduce the symptoms so that you feel more calm, more confident and more in control.
Quit Smoking or Tobacco
QUIT SMOKING NOW. KICK THE HABIT FOR GOOD. GUARANTEED!
YES, I said it, I mean it... With the right mindset, hypnosis is one of the most effective ways to quit smoking or tobacco use. Matt Damon, Ellen DeGeneres, Ewan McGregor, Adele. All of these celebrities quit smoking and they all credit hypnosis with helping them and you can too!
Quitting tobacco of any kind is a difficult habit to break. My name is Dave and I was a dipper (Copenhagen) for more 40 years and have not had any tobacco now since 2018. That is not to say there haven’t been urges, because there have been, and they just come out of nowhere! Hypnosis helped me quit in a single session and the hypnotherapy made it feel effortless.
Smoking or other tobacco habits are difficult to quit and requires willpower, persistence and resolve. Try getting all those things to work for you when you need them. Good luck. In fact, most people try to quit at least 6 or 7 times before they have success.
Stopping smoking or tobacco can also lead to a number of withdrawal symptoms, which can be uncomfortable, but they will fade as long as you remain smoke-tobacco free. These side effects can include cravings or urges, irritability, being grouchy, feeling on edge, feeling hungrier or having trouble concentrating. Weight gain could also be a side effect if you unintentionally replace your smoking or tobacco habit with eating or snacking.
While the side effects can vary from person to person, withdrawal symptoms typically peak within the first couple days. Many clients report feeling few or no symptoms at all once they have past the first month being a non-smoker or tobacco user, but having ‘just one more’ cigarette or chew can restart the withdrawal process, drawing out the unpleasant side effects all over again.
Why is it so difficult to quit? Because deep down in our mind, our addiction to tobacco is ingrained in our subconscious as a ‘feel good’ activity. Pleasure and cravings… they are all buried deep in our subconscious and we don’t even think about them. A little stress at work? Light it up. Having a few drinks with your friends? Let’s light up another. In a place you can’t smoke? Put in a dip. When you are trying to quit cold turkey, you have all these things fighting against you and that is why so many other traditional stop smoking or tobacco programs fall short.
Hypnosis takes a different approach and focuses on change. As a hypnotherapist, I work with your subconscious to help you change your thought patterns and behaviors and remove those cravings and urges, replacing them with positive associations that don’t involve smoking or other tobacco products. This is why hypnosis is so effective.
It’s never a bad time to quit. No matter your age, your sex or your job, when you are ready to make the decision to stop, your health will benefit in ways you’ve never considered. More energy. Easier breathing. Improved Immune System. Longer life expectancy. Less stress and more money in your pocket in the long run!
Overcome Fears
What is a Fear? A fear is a perceived threat of danger, whether real or not. Protecting ourselves is the primary function of our subconscious mind, so if we see something as a threat, the fight/flight part of our mind will automatically take actions to protect us. This is where hypnosis comes in. During hypnosis, we help you change the negative associations you have with flying and replace them with positive associations, allowing you to be more comfortable with the entire experience.
A good example is the fear of flying. It is one of the most common fears, with an estimated 1 in 10 people experiencing flight anxiety or even panic. To those who do not experience the anxiety, this may seem like an irrational fear, but our minds will create feelings of anxiety when it believes we are in danger.
Even the smallest fear can hold people back, stopping them from travelling, seeing the world and even connecting with loved ones.
Hypnosis can help by connecting with your subconscious, to change your thoughts and behaviors associated with the fear, making the journey a more positive experience.
General Self Improvement
Hypnosis, suggestion therapy and general self-improvement are concepts that go hand in hand. Suggestion therapy and hypnosis are powerful tools that can be used to facilitate positive changes in an individual's life and it works by inducing a state of relaxation and increased suggestibility, allowing the individual to access their subconscious mind and make changes at a deeper level. This can help to break deeply ingrained patterns of behavior and lead to improved emotional, physical, and mental well-being.
Suggestion therapy can be used to address a wide range of issues, from anxiety and depression to tobacco cessation and weight loss. One of the benefits is that it can be used to target specific behaviors or thought patterns that are contributing to the individual's problem. For example, someone who struggles with anxiety may be taught self-hypnosis techniques to help them relax and reframe their thoughts in a more positive way.
Self-hypnosis is a particularly useful tool for individuals looking to make general self-improvements. It involves inducing a trance-like state through self-suggestion and can be used to address a variety of issues, such as improving confidence, reducing stress, or increasing motivation. Self-hypnosis is a simple yet effective technique that anyone can learn and use on their own.
One of the reasons why hypnosis and suggestion therapy are such effective tools for self-improvement is that they allow you to bypass your critical conscious mind and access your unconscious mind. This is where deeply ingrained patterns of behavior and thought reside, and where change can be more readily accepted. By accessing the unconscious mind, hypnosis can help to break through limiting beliefs and negative thought patterns that may be holding you back from reaching your full potential.
While hypnosis and suggestion therapy are generally considered safe, it is important to work with a trained and certified hypnotist or hypnotherapist, especially if you are dealing with a specific issue or condition. A hypnotist can guide you through the process and help you create personalized scripts or visualizations that are tailored to your individual needs.
Overall, hypnosis and suggestion therapy are powerful tools that can be used to facilitate general self-improvement and address a wide range of issues. Whether you are looking to boost your confidence, reduce stress, or break a bad habit, hypnosis can help you achieve your goals and create a more positive and fulfilling life. By accessing your subconscious mind and reprogramming your thoughts and behaviors, you can create lasting change and unlock your full potential.
